Le Bag Lady

I saw a woman on my way to work today who was pulling a wire shopping basket on wheels full of recyclables and other treasures, and carrying this ultra-chic retro bag. I am now obsessed with finding and possessing one.

Retail Therapy

I had a bad morning so self-medicated with some retail therapy. I bought the Hamilton watch. It was marked down even further on overstock.com, so I couldn't pass it up. I also bought two cotton cardigans, one white and one navy, and the striped swimsuit I learned about on Miss Alli's blog. I am going to frame it and hang it somewhere in my house. It's a child's size small.

Time for a New Watch

I'm thinking about getting this Hamilton watch from Overstock.com. I've been wanting a metal watch for a while, and I love Hamiltons. Isn't it about time I had a classy watch like this? I assure you, that pun was completely unintentional.

Necktie Clutch

I bought this second-hand J. Crew clutch purse at a designer consignment store down the street from my house for only 9.50. Love it.

Catching Up

Hey, sorry I've been MIA for a while. I think the purse search is over. I am all about the clutch purse now, and I just wish I'd discovered this sooner. Andrea got me one as a gift to make up for the fact that she has TOTALLY SCREWED ME by having a baby and going on maternity leave and making me do all the stuff she does so well and I do so shittily. But I do love the purse. It holds my keys, phone, cards, and sunglasses. If I need to carry more than that we've crossed into tote bag territory.

I just discovered range hoods

OK, I've never been a real fancy kitchen person, but lately I've been seeing these really cute metal range hoods that are like an awning for your stove. Apparently they have a function, but that doesn't concern me. I think they're cute and I want one for my kitchen. Alli or Sarah, if you know of a source for vintage tin range hoods, please share.

At Costco, the House Always Wins

I'm going to Costco at 1pm today. Into each life, a little Costco must fall. It's like going to a casino for me. The house always wins. I am in need of aluminum foil, parchment paper and diapers. And I don't want to run out of these things for another few years, which is why Costco exists. But what will I leave the store with today that I didn't intend to buy? A sewing machine? The 40-Year Old Virgin on DVD? A variety-pak of different kinds of tape? The cute greenhouse, pictured above? Stay tuned.
